Mélomanie presents provocative pairings of early and contemporary works in innovative chamber music collaborations with guest performers and composers.  Mélomanie’s early music programming brings to audiences Baroque, Renaissance, and early Classical music performed on period instruments.  The ensemble’s contemporary repertoire features world premieres of works written especially for Mélomanie by such composers as Ingrid Arauco, Chuck Holdeman, Sergio Roberto de Oliveira, Mark Rimple, and Mark Hagerty, as well as works from the 20th Century. Mélomanie is: Kimberly Reighley, flutes; Tracy Richardson, harpsichord; Fran Berge, violins; Donna Fournier, viola da gamba; and Douglas McNames, cellos.  Mélomanie has recorded works of Telemann on Lyrichord Discs and can be heard on Playing in the Garden: Musical Inspirations from the Winterthur Garden, a benefit CD released in Summer 2008.   Mélomanie performs throughout the region and offers a series at its new home at Grace United Methodist Church, Wilmington, where it is Ensemble-in-Residence.  Mélomanie means music mania!
